The home trainer

The next piece of equipment is the home trainer. Prices vary widely, from around 50 euros to over a thousand. To get started, a basic wheel‑on trainer with a magnetic brake is more than enough. These models are simple, effective, and very affordable, even though they are usually not connected.

If you want a connected model, you should expect to spend at least 200 euros. It’s not essential when starting out, and I don’t recommend it for a return to training or a first experience. What matters most is having equipment that is stable, reliable, and easy to use.
